Physician Specialists, Various Specialties (LAGMC)
For years, we have been the cornerstone of the safety-net for the largest county in the United States. As one of the largest, we are the busiest Level 1 trauma center, and one of only 3 Burn units, in Los Angeles County. We are home to one of the largest GME training centers in the US, with >950 residents and fellows, representing nearly 1% of all post graduate trainees in the US. Our mission is to provide fully integrated, accessible, affordable and culturally sensitive care, one person at a time. LA General Medical Center is also one of the largest sites within the Department of Health Services providing essential primary care to patients from across the greater Los Angeles County and a recognized leader in social and behavioral health integration to meet many safety-net community needs.
LA General Medical Center practices in a patient-centered medical home model and patients are provided services by the same team of healthcare providers to support all their health needs. The medical home serves as a hub for the larger network of hospitals, emergency departments, urgent care centers, behavioral health providers, and specialists within the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.
The hospital is in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. It has over 100,000 residents and has a majority Latino population. It is located east of the Los Angeles River and its neighboring communities include Lincoln Heights, Chinatown, East Los Angeles and Downtown Los Angeles.
We encourage physicians in all specialties to consider working here.
