Clinical Director, Gynecologic Oncology (HUMC)

The Clinical Director, Gynecologic Oncology, is a leadership role ensuring high-quality person-centered care for patients in Gynecologic Oncology. The successful candidate will be an inclusive and visionary leader with experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers. This position will work with the medical leadership team contributing expert guidance and advice to matters within the Departments of OBGYN and Harbor-UCLA’s Commission on Cancer. The successful candidate also will be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Director is accountable for ensuring effective delivery of excellence in patient care and for focusing on the patient experience and safety, quality management and more. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for work in the safety net. The role will also support and work with relevant committees at Harbor and The Department of Health Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Active participation in the clinical practice of Gynecologic Oncology.
  • Participation in clinical research in Gynecologic Oncology.
  • Teaching of residents, medical and nursing students.
  • Serve as Clinical Director (Associate or Professor Rank)
  • Secondary duties include participation in departmental committees and administrative matters

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD degree from a recognized accredited University
  • Board certification
  • Research experience
  • Spanish speaking, preferred

Primary faculty appointment is in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and includes a pivotal role in advancing our educational departmental activities though teaching residents and medical students in clinics and in the operating room. In addition, faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including an opportunity for research time as appropriate for experience and interests. Participation is also expected as assigned in hospital, medical and department committees. Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative setting. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has both Obstetrics and Gynecology practice groups organized into clinical sections: Sexual, Reproductive Health & Primary Care, Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecology, Urogynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology
