Salary Ranges: $212,942.40 – $285,502.08 Annually

The Primary Care Outpatient Clinics at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center is seeking a highly qualified Physician Specialist

Position: Rancho’s Primary Care Outpatient Clinics serve the needs of individuals with physical disabilities and other disabilities. This Physician Specialist will be providing primary care for individuals with disabilities. The Physician Specialist joins the clinic team of medical staff providers to serve the needs of Rancho’s unique patient population and administratively reports to the Medical Director of Outpatient Primary Care Services.

Rancho is located in the city of Downey, home to more than 113,000 residents in 12.41 square miles, is a diverse and dynamic community in the heart of Los Angeles County, approximately 15 miles from Downtown Los Angeles, and 5 miles from Orange County.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Conducts comprehensive clinical examination, diagnoses, and treats patients
• Prescribes, administers, and dispense medical treatment related to the needs of the patients
• Responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, diagnosis, and health care plan
• Assumes responsibilities for each patient from discovery of the disorder to recovery
• Coordinates the care across disciplines towards the patient medical needs and medical management and progression prevention
• Consults with specialty physician as needed to coordinate a plan of care, implement intervention/treatment, discuss disease progression, prevention, and patient/family education needs
• Analyzes data collected to determine patient health status and identifies differential diagnosis based on patient history, physical examination, and clinical findings and discusses result with the patient

Desirable Qualifications:

• Excellent people skills, with strong written and oral communication skills
• Computer Literacy and skills in Microsoft WORKS, EXCEL, and PowerPoint, and proficient in using an electronic medical record system, such as ORCHID (Cerner Millennium)
• Ability to maintain, organize, analyze, and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously
• Ability to communicate with patient families, care providers, and co-workers
• Rapid acceptor and agent of change
• Experience in providing primary and specialized care to people with physical and other disabilities
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred)
• ACLS preferred
• Perseverance in the face of challenges
• Integrity and clarity in all interactions
• Self-directed and able to work both independently and with others to accomplish organizational goals

Candidates must currently hold a permanent County of Los Angeles payroll title of Physician Specialist to be considered for transfer or are reachable on a DHS certification list to be considered for a promotion or as a new hire.
