Emergency Medicine Physician

GENERAL SUMMARY: Olive View-UCLA Medical Center (OVMC), a public teaching hospital affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, invites applications for a part-time physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. We are a Los Angeles County facility, UCLA teaching hospital, and equal partner in the UCLA Emergency Medicine residency. This position is for clinical shifts only in a large urban academic safety-net hospital that is part of an integrated Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). Candidates must have a strong academic background with a track record of clinical excellence, leadership, collaboration, data-driven management, and innovation. Additional requirements include eligibility for California medical licensure, as well as the ability to successfully collaborate across disciplines and work effectively within a large and complex health delivery system. 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Primary responsibility is supervision and bedside teaching of residents and students in the course of direct patient care in the ED 
• Contribute to the academic mission of research, education, and community service 
• Collaborate with other services across the hospital to provide multidisciplinary approach for patients as needed 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy 
• Completed an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program 
• Board Certified/Prepared in Emergency Medicine 
• Excellent clinical and teaching skills 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Creative, forward-thinking 
• Excellent communication skills  
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment 
• Spanish language skills a plus
