Juvenile Court Health Services

Juvenile Court Health Services Physicians is a group of DHS physicians working as a team with other health care staff who are dedicated to providing quality health care to the adolescents detained in the Los Angeles County Probation detention facilities. We work in partnership with Probation, Department of Mental Health—Juvenile Justice, Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), and Youth Advocates for the total care of the youth.
We provide the general adolescent primary care needs for teens 12—21 years old in the probation juvenile halls and residential treatment camps. On-site services include laboratory/phlebotomy draws, dental clinics, optometry clinic, pharmacy, and radiology. Possibilities exist for teaching and administrative opportunities as well.

We are looking for primary care physicians (pediatrics, internal medicine-pediatrics, and family medicine specialists) with an engaging and empathetic personality who are highly motivated and understanding of the high-risk, high-need adolescent population we work with. They need to be able to work well in a team environment who works with not only other physicians but other departmental staff as well.
