Edward R. Roybal Comprehensive Health Center (ERRCHC) has one opening for a full-time Obstetrics and Gynecologist.
The facility is one of six comprehensive health centers operated by Los Angeles County. ERCHC is an outpatient health center located in East Los Angeles and is part of DHS’ Ambulatory Care Network. Our patients are predominantly Latino/a/x and many with Spanish as a preferred language.
We provide primary care in a patient-centered medical home model, and we offer specialty care services including women’s health, optometry podiatry, complex diabetes, cardiology and medication-assisted therapy for substance use. Roybal’s primary and specialty care clinics are open Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm, offering both in person and telehealth services. Roybal also has an urgent care clinic that is open 6 days per week, as well as on-site laboratory, radiology services, and an outpatient pharmacy.
Patients have in-network access to DHS medical centers for additional specialty, surgical, inpatient, and emergency care services. In addition to clinical care, Roybal maintains a focus on continuous quality improvement, social determinants of health, community partnerships, and health equity.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is a full-time clinical position that will manage full-scope obstetrical and gynecological patients. Candidates should have experience with prenatal care, surgical consultations, and office-based procedures such as colposcopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsies. This position offers the opportunity to take inpatient call, L&D coverage and gynecologic OR time at Los Angeles General Hospital, a teaching hospital with OBGYN residents and USC Keck medical students. There is also time allotted to participate and lead teaching didactics and formal lectures. The candidate will manage two full-time Nurse Practitioners and provide consultation when needed. Other qualifications of strong candidates include: experience and interest in teaching medical students and Advanced Practice Provider students; Spanish-language fluency; experience working in safety net health systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Board eligible or Board Certified in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid California medical license.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a community health setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care.
Other Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
- Familiarity with performance/quality improvement methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle patient complaints effectively.
