Affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, our Department of Pediatrics is committed to providing exceptional patient care while educating the next generation of physicians.

We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatrician to join our Division of Neonatology as a Neonatal Nocturnist, providing overnight care in our 27-bed Level III NICU. Physicians practice with clinical autonomy while benefiting from the support of an on-call board-certified neonatologist and a full complement of pediatric subspecialists.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight care for premature and critically ill newborns in Level II and Level III NICU.
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage neonatal patients, including urgent and complex clinical conditions.
  • Collaborate with the on-call neonatologist for consultation and escalation of care.
  • Supervise and teach pediatric residents through bedside instruction, procedural guidance, and delivery room education.
  • Partner with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, pediatric subspecialists, and day teams to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
  • Complete timely documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

Required

  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • California medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Strong neonatal resuscitation and clinical management skills

Preferred

  • NICU, neonatal hospitalist, or nocturnist experience
  • Interest in academic medicine and resident education
  • Commitment to caring for medically underserved populations
